Tuesday Tidbits #130 Summertime and the Living is Easy

Summer Living

It’s been nice… I mentioned to a friend the other day and now I mentioning it to you as well. It’s nice to wake up every morning and not have the thought of Covid in my thoughts. Being fully vaccinated has given me a sense of relief. I know there is a chance of getting it (pretty darn small chance as they say we are 98% immune) and even if we do… we may not have symptoms or we will not get real sick. So… this summer has been enjoyable for me and sweet man.

The peonies are blooming!
Their fragrance is amazing!
They look like they are dancing in this capture.

Welcome Friends!

I need to forewarn you… this may be a long post. So please grab a cup of coffee or tea or a glass of wine.

I cut the Rhododendrons and brought them into the LivingRoom. The green pottery is from a favorite place here locally that we have enjoyed for years. (Campbells Pottery.) Well, the owner/potter has decided he is going to retire. Everyone is happy for him but sad to see this favorite local business close. It will be greatly missed. My sister and I will head down there this week and see if there is anything left to purchase.

The blue dish is from there as well. To make the easy beignets see my past post… Easy Beignets

Triathlon

We had a Triathlon here this past Saturday at the lake. It was well attended and quite fun!

Even our local traffic girl got in on it!

Traffic Control Tonya!

Around Lakeside

It’s always a great to walk around and see the latest!

Edinboro Lake

The Wild Roses are in bloom everywhere.

I always try to share a Lakeside home when I can…

Love their flag… 🌵

You can see more Lakeside Houses here… A Bike Ride Tour.

A lovely garden!

I spotted Queen Anne’s Lace! My first summer sighting!

Ladybugs having some fun! 🤭

In Our Gardens

A 50+ year old lupine that my Mom planted!
Love the morning sun.

Creature Feature

Do you remember the baby Robins from last week… well they left the nest. Here is one of them…

Inspiration at the Potting Bench

And the potting bench got a little inspiration from these Blogging Friends. On certain Monday’s …they have a feature called Monday Morning Blooms. This week they used Mason Jars as their theme. Please visit them… Pam at Everyday Living , Mary at Home is Where the Boat Is , Lidy at French Garden House and Shirley at Housepitality Designs.

Here are my jars! Thanks for the inspiration girls!

Last but Not Least

I have to share some Sunroom pictures. You see… I am loving my corner cupboard that we found at a garage sale last summer… It’s filled with some of my Ruby Red Glass Collection.

That candy dish was my Mom’s! I think she liked red too!
Living in a town called Edinboro… you have to have lots of tartan plaid! There are lots of treasured family heirlooms in this room as well.
I think we like birds!

Thank You Always!

Thank you for reading this far and always for following along! And here are a few clouds we see when sitting out on our back patio! Happy Tuesday! Enjoy the rest of your week friends!

    1. It was! It’s an annual event here. It was cancelled last year due to the pandemic… so it was awesome to have it return.
I’m still thinking about your Lobster Roll at the Cape! Yum!
      Happy Tuesday Mr. Mark!

  1. Seeing all your colorful photos was a great way to start my Tuesday! I love your red themed sun room. I spotted a red touch tone phone next to your rocking chair! Happy Tuesday!

    1. How about that phone! It’s a Hotline straight to … somewhere! Lol!
It’s definitely a fun and colorful room. Thank you for enjoying!
      Happy Tuesday Beth!

  2. Nancy, your peony blooms are beautiful! I enjoyed seeming your lovely lake this morning. I know that you must be enjoying your summer there. I agree with you, it is so wonderful to be out and about again! Your house always looks beautiful! I adore red, too, and love seeing how you use it in your home. Your collection of red glass looks so pretty in your cupboard. Enjoy your week!!!

    1. Good morning Shannon! Thank you for coming over and visiting for a spell.
Yes… the red in this room shines. Thank you for the love!

  3. Wow Nancy, these photos are absolutely beautiful!! The blooms all around the lakeside home, the garden decorations, and the stunning colors of nature are the perfect way to spend Tuesday morning here! 😉 Thank you for brightening our days!

I love the way you’ve decorated your home too. It’s such a cozy, inviting space; just the way home should be! ♥ I’m glad you enjoyed the triathlon too. Such a wonderful feeling to see people enjoying life again.

Sending lots of love and blessings to you & yours!

  4. Good morning my friend. I loved visiting with you, I think I could hang out all day in your beautiful area. Oh, oh the peonies are magnificent. The sweet vignette on the buffet with the Rhodies and the lovely pottery is so pretty. Coffee and beignets would be enjoyable right about now. Triathlon, lakeside views, sweet lakeside cottage, cottage gardens, and the first spotting of Queen Anne’s Lace all make for a wonderful day. I am amazed at the beauty of the 50+ year old lupine that your mom planted and it is still blooming. Your garden views are just gorgeous.

Thanks so much for your shout-out this morning, my friend. You are most kind and generous. I am loving the views in your sunroom, the reds are warm and welcoming. Wishing you a joy-filled Tuesday ❤️

    1. Oh Pam, I just love your visits. And you know how much I enjoy visiting you.
Thank you for all your lovely compliments! Hugs!
      Enjoy your Tuesday!

    1. Oh I am going to make a collage of her this summer. She comes out mostly on the weekends when it gets a wee bit busier at the Lake!
Thank you for the visit Tim!

  5. Have you found that everything is blooming early? Even our peonies are close to opening and that doesn’t usually happen until late June/early July. I know you enjoy returning to the lake just as I do the return to Maine.

    1. Yes… we feel the warmer temps are helping for earlier blooms! Especially Queen Anne’s Lace… I usually don’t see that until late June early July.
Enjoy your summer in Maine my friend! Please eat a Lobster Roll for me!

  6. Everything looks so wonderful, Nancy. We’re just getting ready to rug up down here with a chilly blast coming through today and tomorrow – thank goodness for jumpers and heaters is all I can say. Love the ladybird ‘having fun’, love all the blooms, and all that lovely red glass. Happy Tuesday to you and Sweet Man.

    1. Thank you Clare! Okay so Rug Up means what? And jumpers are what too? I use to wear Jumpers in high school… they were a dress.
      I need to learn Australian!

      1. 😂😂😂😂

Jumpers are sweaters (I think that’s what you call them) and ‘rugging up’ means putting on warm clothes – or snuggling (getting comfortable and warm) under a blanket. I have a lovely red tartan one on our lounge. We Aussies certainly have a unique way of speaking.

      2. Oh I’m giggling here. We have different words and dialects right here in the USA… We are no different!

      3. We do too (here) from state to state and you can easily tell where someone is from by the way they speak.

  7. I must admit I am so envious of your lovely lake life! What I would give to have a place to escape the summer heat in Florida. Mostly, I think I miss all of the beautiful perennials that I could grow in Ohio that I can’t grow here in Florida. Your lupines are stunning. It is amazing to think they are 50 years old!! Thanks for the visit!

    1. Good Afternoon Chloe! How sweet of you to stop in for a visit! Ohio misses you! I still giggle that we have that connection. Can you believe we were living in the same town?
It’s extremely humid here at the moment and the perennials need rain. I’m looking forward to seeing your new outdoor area.
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday… and thank you for the love!

  8. Oh Nancy, your peonies are gorgeous, and your whole garden is an abundance of blooms! I know I too got an immediate feeling of freedom once I received that second vaccine, and now that we can stop wearing masks is certainly life changing! It is wonderful to get a peek into your beautiful lake life, and I loved seeing some of your treasures and the vintage thermos, red and plaid corner of your sunroom is so much fun…You are ready for a happy, busy summer!
    Jenna

    1. Thank you so much Jenna for your kind words! Thank you for enjoying the nature all around us here at the lake.
And yes… that second vaccine is making me feel so comfortable! Congratulations to you for your vaccines!
      Happy Week to you Jenna!

  9. Can I just move into your sunroom? I promise, I won’t make a sound — just savor it’s bright, light cheer (and that fabulous red and white quilt!). It all looks terrific, Nancy. Beautiful blooms, plenty to do, and as hot as it is, there is a lake at hand. Our peonies said “goodbye” this week but oh, they gave off fabulous fragrance whlle they lasted — savor it!

I feel the same about the vaccine. ‘I’m not about to be wild and crazy but it’s such a relief to give or get a hug and if I forget the mask, not panic!

    1. I’m so happy you enjoyed the sunroom. And you can stay as long as you wish! I would be delighted!
Thank you for all the love my friend.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
