Tuesday Tidbits #347 October’s Special Moments

Happy Tuesday!

Hello and Happy Halloween, almost! Hope your week was fantastic. I spotted these ghosts and just had to share. I love the warm golden glow that surrounds them.

It’s the end of October! Time flies when you are having fun, I guess.

Birthday

An old Facebook Avatar. (When they were cute!)

While we have been back here at our Winter Home, I have been busy settling in. Since my hip isn’t at its best and I’m a bit older, I find that things just take a little longer these days. The discomfort in my hip can really drain my energy, but I keep pushing forward. I did have a Birthday! Another year has gone by! I’m glad to be here and thankful for all my blessings. I’m happy you’re here following along too.

Lunch out at Tonto Bar and Grill in Cavecreek, AZ.

Our salads were delightful.

I enjoy their Calamari and I always add it to their Harvest Salad. It’s delicious!

Thrifting

This stampede is at the town of Cavecreek, AZ where we went thrifting.

We enjoy going thrifting and antiquing. I found these sage green plates and chargers at the thrift store. Now all I need are some Green glasses. I have some at the summer home, but they won’t be of any use to me, being so far away. I will also be looking for copperware or silverware with wooden handles to complete this table setting. I love the hunt!

I also found this cute little ghost mug while on our shopping extravaganza.

The rose bloomed in our garden on my birthday! Sharing for Terri’s Flower Hour.

I’ve found myself enjoying my fall mugs more this season. I guess it’s because I didn’t do as much fall decorating at both homes this year, since we came back early to AZ for my pre-op appointments. Plus, l’ve had some fun moments on Facebook sharing them with my friends.

Tomato Servers

Not too long ago, I shared one of my tomato servers with you, and since then, my collection has grown quite a bit. I’ve made a fun bouquet with them, and I look forward to adding more. Along with the servers are the small Bon-Bon servers.

I find the servers at antique stores. I just adore my vintage Marmalade Crocks too!

Our Skies this Week

We appreciated some truly incredible sunsets and sunrises this week.

Sunrise

Another morning sunrise.

Sunset

The sliver moon. Or what I used to tell my kids, “ a hey diddle diddle moon.”

  1. Your dish collections always amaze me. The tomato servers are fascinating. My mother had one of the small ones that she used for cranberry sauce at the holidays. I can imagine your pulse quickens at an antique shop sign. Best wishes for your upcoming hips surgery. Hope it goes smoothly and you recover quickly.

    1. Thank You Judy! I plan to recover quickly as well.
And yes, tomato servers are called cranberry sauce servers as well. And yes, I love a good antique mall where the prices are great.
Thanks so much and Happy Halloween!

  2. Good morning Nancy! Beautiful photos as always. It looks like you celebrated another trip around the sun perfectly. I hope your birthday was wonder-filled. I pray that your hip replacement will go well and in no time you will be pain free and enjoying all the things that you and Sweet Man enjoy!

    1. I thank you for the prayers dear one.
I plan on a quick and speedy recovery!
Thank you for the Birthday wishes and Happy Birthday to you as well! 🥳💐

  3. I hope your hip surgery coming up will alleviate that discomfort in time. Three cheers for still pushing on! You’ve had some great fun — and some terrific finds. Love your servers, those are gems. And very cute seasonal mugs, too! What a pretty table! Yes, I need some new glasses too. This post made me smile! And thanks for your visits, too! Happy week!

    1. Smiles are the best and what I wish for!
Thank you for the well wishes.
And thank you always for the visits and sweet words.
      Happy Halloween!

  4. What glorious sunrise and sunset photos Nancy…they are certainly something to be thankful for…I have always been in awe of these beautiful occurrences and try to observe them each day if possible. I love your tomato and bon bon servers collections. I am currently “cleaning out” cabinets and closets for the keep, donate, and toss baskets… but alas, It is almost a losing battle because I end up keeping most, donating few and tossing even less. The good news is I can wipe down the surfaces and wash the strange film off drinkware that seems to occur for no apparent reason,…and vow to use the pieces more. I do enjoy my collections. I smiled at your cute ghost cup…luv him. Enjoy your pre-surgery time…I’ve been there and it can be a struggle but with your strength…I know you will persevere and Sweet Man will be your rock. Prayers and Blessings always

  7. Your pictures are amazing! Both the ones of nature and of your stunning collections indoors. I really enjoyed them all. I also love the quote about time flying and the pilot- I’d not heard that one before but it’s true :). Good luck with your upcoming surgery. It does not sound fun but hopefully you’ll have better movement and be pain free afterwards.

  8. Happy Birthday and Happy Halloween, Nancy. Your sunrises and sunsets are stunning!! I have a tomato server and also one of those mini ones that belonged to my beloved mom. I didn’t know the name of them, but I love your bouquet collection of them!! Your thankful list is beautiful, also. Prayers for you for your upcoming surgery. 🙏🏻

    1. Thank you, Kitty! I am so glad you have a tomato server and a Bon Bon server. And what treasures they are, as they are from your Mom. Thank you for the Birthday wishes and well wishes and prayers. I am ready!

  10. Welcome back! ❤️. Sorry for your pain. Hopefully your hip operation will fix that. I know my husband felt much better after his. I love thrifting too, although I don’t look for the same sorts of things as you do. Looking forward to seeing you soon and hearing more about your summer. Happy belated birthday.
