Tuesday Tidbits #257 Brrr!

It’s Cold!

We’re Not In AZ Folks!

Our Cottage Living room!

We are back at the Lakehouse in Pennsylvania! We came back to celebrate a special birthday for my son! We are so glad we did because, after a few days of being here, the Blower on our furnace broke. Today, it will get fixed! Hallelujah! We have kept warm by the fire; but a space heater adds more warmth, along with a small gas stove. I made a big pot of chicken chili to warm us from the inside out. To add to the craziness, it’s been below freezing temps, and we have had over a foot of snow! Shoveling the snow, bringing in the wood, and stoking the fire has become our new way of life for a few weeks! The house has that wonderful scent of burning wood! But listening to the wood sizzle and crackle is priceless.

Along with getting to see the art Jack Frost leaves for us every morning is invaluable as well.
The lake is frozen and the ice fishermen are enjoying it! Do you see them on the lake?
Here is a better shot!
A path to go on the ice.
My walking path at the lake was cleared!

When I was a kid, we would shovel the snow off the frozen lake and go ice skating! I had a baby blue coat, and my ice skates were also baby blue with silver fur trim. I thought I was a hot diggity dog while accomplishing figure eights on the homemade rink. I’m sorry to say at my older age, I did not go out on the ice yesterday, but if I were young again… I would have been out there in a heartbeat! It’s all part of Lake Living! Thanks for joining me on a walk down memory lane.

Have you ever broken an icicle off a house?

Fun with Friends

It’s not all about playing in the snow and keeping the house warm. We were delighted to gather with our friends here at the lake! What fun we had! We are so blessed and appreciate their warm friendships!

Love these gals!

Wintry Snow

The following snaps are of our Pennsylvania winter! As Mary from Awakening Wonders would say… “Tis the season to be freezin’!”

A walk down by the lake.
Even the birds are cold!
Who is keeping warm in here?
Snow covered trees.
More trees covered in lots of snow!
Time to get back to the house and get warm by the fire. It’s cold out here!

Thank you!

Are you cold yet? 🥶 Can you still feel your toes? How about some Hot Cocoa to warm you up? I yet have another memory for you… when I was young, after my friends and I would finish ice skating. we would then walk to my friend’s house for hot Spiced Tea! Mrs. H, my friend’s Mom, had instant homemade Spice Tea in a canister on her kitchen counter. All of us would take off our coats and one or two layers of snow clothes and would throw them in a heaping pile. The tea kettle would whistle, and off to the kitchen, we ran to make ourselves hot spiced tea! Thank you for letting me indulge you in yet another sweet childhood memory. I am happy to say I have made the instant tea and have given it away in small jars. It’s also called Friendship Tea. The secret ingredient is Tang! There are loads of recipes on Pinterest for it.

I am so pleased you got to partake in a Pennsylvania winter with us! However, it’s time to add some wood to the fire and wrap my son’s gift!

As I always try to convey… we certainly appreciate all of you. Thanks for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We wish all of you a wonderful week ahead. Whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings! Please stay warm and cozy and sip Spiced Tea!
