Tuesday Tidbits #246 Have You Heard?

OCTOBER HAS ARRIVED!

Yes it sure has! Just yesterday, I was sharing 4th of July pictures with all of you!

Now I am sharing Autumn leaves!

We are having a warm start to our October. And I can’t be happier! It makes for lovely walks down by the lake while the sun is shining!

Hearing the crisp leaves rustle while walking through them is priceless!

Happy October!

This is my Birthday Month! I will be making sure to enjoy each and every day! I did make a Grape Pie, which we are slowly enjoying and having as a celebration of me going on Medicare. 😃 It’s quite tasty! We are fortunate to live near Welches Grape Vineyards. Concord Grapes are needed for a Grape Pie. If you have Concord Grapes where you live, search Grape Pie on Pinterest. There are many recipes!

My Mom would often make a fork crust around her pies. So why not I?

Homecoming

This past weekend was Homecoming for our University here in town which is my Alma Mater. We had perfect weather and the leaves cooperated for photos!

Clambake

We kicked off Homecoming with a Clam Bake at our friend’s house. We enjoyed great food and fun fellowship.

Yum!
That’s us under the Harvest Moon!
Moonbeams!
Fun Friends!

Great Fire!

Homecoming Fun

Our little town comes alive with lots of people, a fun parade, multiple events and the college football game which brings fabulous tailgate fun! And the Fighting Scots won the game!

❤️

Sweet Man and I started off Saturday morning at an event that hundreds come out for called Kegs n Eggs. We watched the Harvest moon set and the sun come up while we ate a hardy breakfast of eggs, bacon and home fries. And yes, a tasty beer was enjoyed as well! And why not, it’s Homecoming! The air was chilly, crisp, and foggy while off in the distance bagpipes and drums were heard! We live in a Scottish town called Edinboro… this is how we do it!

We got to Kegs and Eggs at 0 Dark Thirty!
The Harvest Moon in the Fog!
Sun is up!

And yes I was wearing my gloves I brought back from Edinburgh, Scotland! It was 48 degrees when we started in the dark!

❤️

The tartan plaid comes out at Homecoming along with all the Kilts!

❤️❤️❤️
❤️
So sweet!

We can’t forget the Bagpipes!

Our town loves our Bagpipes!

Colorful Trees

October brings trees dressed in their finest colors here in NW Pennsylvania! We have enjoyed watching this seasonal transition take place.

🍁🍂🧡💛🍂🍁
My favorite tree by my favorite Lake!
✨🍂💛🍂✨
🍂🍁🍂

I enjoy seeing this lake in Autumn.

Take a rest while you gaze at the beauty!

Thank You!

That’s all I have for you this week. I hope you are embracing the seasonal changes and enjoying the simple pleasures that fall brings.

As I always try to convey… we certainly appreciate all of you. Thank you for joining us for another Tuesday Tidbits.

We wish all of you a wonderful week ahead. Enjoy what this upcoming week brings to you. And whatever you have planned… make every day count and be thankful for your Blessings.

    1. The bottom is going to fall out in a few days! ENJOY this weather we are having now.
Thanks so much for the visit, Mr. Mark!

  1. Happy, happy birthday! Looks like you had a wonderful, fun, colorful celebration. I’m guessing you’re closing in on heading west to enjoy Arizona’s more moderate temps and no snow to plow. Enjoy October’s beautiful lake color.

    1. The weather and fall leaves have been superb! We had a great weekend. Thanks for coming along!
Enjoy this week to come Judy!

  2. Good morning, Nancy. Those scenes are magical, it looks like you are seeing the beautiful arrival of autumn. I didn’t remember that we share the same birthday month. Wishing you a fabulous birthday, dear one. Not only is October my birthday month, but my favorite month. Happy Tuesday 🍁🧡🍂

    1. I need to mark it on my calendar as it’s your birthday, too!
Thank you for your sweet comments! I appreciate you very much.
      Happy October!

  3. Happy October Nancy! Your photos are spectacular! Our leaves are just starting to change, we won’t see the pretty colors for several weeks. Love the photo of the fire! Kegs and eggs sounds like so much fun, all the Homecoming events do! You have been having a lot of fun!! I’ve never heard of grape pie, I will have to look that up! What day is your birthday? My daughter’s birthday is Oct. 15. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

  4. Happy Birthday to you!
Thank you for the lovely images. The pie looks divine Nancy, and my mom made the same fork crimp!
We’re finally getting summer here, record breaking temps in the 80s predicted for today and tomorrow!

  5. What lovely fall colors you captured in most of these photos. Nice! And why have I never heard of grape pie before?! If I’m ever close to a concord grape vineyard, do you think a local cafe or pastry shop might have a slice for me to buy and try? I’m sure I’d love it. This post makes me homesick for the small college town where I grew up. Lots of fun activities at Homecoming and other events. We’re thinking of retiring there. We’ll see. Great post! Thanks for sharing your week with us.

    1. Thank you so much for enjoying this post!
Grape Pies are mostly offered at harvest time. September/October in this area. Hope that helps!!
      We love this little town!
      Happy October!

  6. So lovely! As always, your pics are delightful. I love all the Scottish fun and yum…a grape pie, you say? I’ve never had that but it sounds (and looked) delish. Thanks so much, Nancy! 🥰

  7. Everything looks gorgeous and picture-perfect as usual, Nancy.  I imagine you’ll be saying goodbye soon and (once more) revelling in your beloved Arizona desert and all the Saguaros 🏜️🌵Wishing you an absolutely fabulous birthday 🎂 (and who cares about the number of candles). 💜

      1. I love reading your Tuesday Tidbits, it brightens my Wednesday morning (and it’s still dark out when I’m up and reading it 🤣). I love reading about what you’ve been up to 🥰

  8. I love your beautiful photos, especially your house with the lake in front and wreathed in fall colors. I’m in northern NM and am enjoying seeing the new areas of color each day on my dog walk. The leaves only turn yellow here with an occasional orange, but they are spectacular. I’m hoping for a second fall with even more colors when we go to Oklahoma. Viewing all of the kilts and plaid makes me smile. Your university and town have some great traditions!

    1. We do have fun traditions in our little town!
That house on the lake always gets the fall colors first!
Thank you for your sweet comments!

  9. thank you Nancy for sharing your beautiful photos. What fun you have had this week. I have to agree I have never heard of grape pie…but it sounds yummy. Have a great week my friend.

  10. Happy birthday month, Nancy. My eyes widened at reading Edinboro. My father-in-law went to college there and a lot of my husband’s family is from Meadville, which I believe isn’t to far away. 🙂

Enjoy those Midwest autumn scenes while you can. Meanwhile, we’re getting the temperatures to drop here so you’ll feel good when you get back. 🙂

Quite a few years ago, our younger daughter and I took a trip to England with stops in Wales and Scotland before heading over to France. She ordered a bespoke kilt, which arrives quite a number of months later. It was a fun trip and we enjoyed Edinburgh, Scotland immensely.

    1. We loved Edinburgh, Scotland very much as well.
How incredible that your father in law went to Edinboro! It is such a small world! Meadville is about a half hour south of us.
Thank you for enjoying the fall colors along with us. Happy October!

  11. What a totally terrific week. I love the homecoming and your fabulous gloves and the clambake sounds delightful. Wonderful photos, all. We have to savor the last of these lake times. I think your color is ahead of ours. Happy Birthday month — I hope you celebrate every day!

  12. Nancy, your autumn photographs are gorgeous! We have still had summer weather, but we are supposed to have a morning temp Saturday in the 40s. Hopefully, we will see fall colors soon. It looks like you had such a fun week, and I love your plaid gloves. I love anything plaid. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

  13. Happy birthday, Nancy. That is most of my family’s birthday month. I was a week late. I don’t know where to begin to say thanks for sharing all the beauty in these picture. I got a kick out of the tartan suits, and there’s nothing like bagpipes to set a mood. Grape pie, my dad would have been in grape heaven. His favorite was concord grapes, and we had grape vines in Indiana. Lots to love here! Thanks for sharing.

  14. I would LOVE to live in a college town, Nancy! It seems so idyllic especially with the Autumn leaves (fab photos by the way)–love that leaf carpet! Homecoming is such a fun cerebration and iconic for really enjoying Autumn. And happy birthday! My hubby’s was just yesterday (10/14).

Thank You So Much... for sharing your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your thoughts.
