Hi Folks!
Thanks For Being Here!
We are so happy you stopped by today. It’s wonderful to share this time with you. Can you believe it’s already Tuesday? The week sure did fly by. I hope you had a wonderful week.

It’s been a fantastic week here! The weather warmed up nicely, and the rain took a break. Just in time for us to soak up all the wonderful things we love about living here!

Living in this community is a remarkable experience, and there are countless reasons to love it.
Our Captivating Lake
This lake is a serene and picturesque retreat which offers many opportunities for fun and enjoyment.

Boating
We enjoy our Pontoon and our friend’s Pontoon. Plus, Miss Nancy likes to kayak, especially with friends.

Fishing
We don’t fish but we like to eat fish. 😊

Walking/Biking
Taking a stroll on lakeside is quite peaceful.

While walking by the lake we view homes like these. It never gets old.

Public Events
The 4th of July is always a fun event by the lake and in town.
The Bikes and Trikes parade can’t be missed!

Speaking of events:
Edinboro Lake Lantern Festival

We had quite the magical affair this past week to kick off Summer. It was the First ever and hopefully annual Edinboro Lake Lantern Festival sponsored by The Wills Team Realtors.

Their goal was to have everyone come together and collect all the contributions for the non-profit organization, the Boro Women and Family Services group. The Wills Team’s vision is to support those in need with kindness, compassion, and fun. It was a tremendous community gathering of more than a thousand people. Everyone who attended was utterly amazed by the incredible turnout!

Not only did we have lots in attendance, but there were many activities for the young and old. A wonderful summer Celebration!

There was face painting, a make-your-own flower crown area, rock painting, and a photo booth. A make-your-own s’mores gathering was another favorite. Food Trucks were also available for those who were still hungry.

Food Trucks were also available for those who were still hungry.

The sound of Bagpipes filled the air. We have to have Bagpipes at an Edinboro Event!

The event’s highlight was the beautiful floating lanterns that many participants purchased. Each lantern consisted of floating wood, rice paper, and a battery tea light candle. Tables were available to decorate your very own lanterns. Many chose to remember loved ones who passed on. Some showed their artistic flair. All were beautiful! Music filled the air, and everyone was enjoying the festivities! The lanterns were environmentally approved for floating on the lake.

When dusk fell, many headed to the lake to release their lantern and set them afloat on the lake. A large area was roped off on the lake to contain the lanterns from floating too far out. As it got darker, the lanterns glowed, and merriment filled the air. This little community really felt the love all around them.

After the festival, some dedicated people in boats collected all the lanterns.
A Heartfelt Thank You to The Wills Team and for the Boro Women Family Services!
“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate efforts of its members.” ~Coretta Scott King
In moments like these, we find the joy in celebrating those who are dedicated to enhancing our community. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Wills Team for their vision and the incredible individuals from Boro Women and Family Services who worked so diligently at the silent auction table and the 50/50 raffle. Your efforts truly make a difference, and we appreciate all that you do.

Thank You

Wow. I was loving all I saw in the beginning of the post, but then you hit that festival and just — WOW. That looks like such fun, such community, and boy, was it ever beautiful to see those lanterns on the lake. What a great idea for a festival and so lovely! Thanks for starting my morning out with beauty and inspiration!

What a fun festival, Nancy! Yay!
Thank you! It was!
How wonderful! What a great idea to bring folks together in such a beautiful atmosphere by your community’s lake. I can’t help but contrast this scene with the chaotic scenes from the news lately. Thanks for sharing and making my day better!
Yes, this brings peace to our area. I can’t handle the news anymore. It brings me great anxiety. I watch local news only.
Thank you so much for enjoying our special town.
We love it.
Thank you also for taking the time to read this lengthy post.
Happy Trails to you!
Fabulous post. So many cool things going on.
Thank you, Tim. Very cool.

It’s always delightful to “visit” your little community. What a huge outpouring for the first year of this event. I’m sure there will be many more.
We are hoping so!

What fun!! I love the idea of the floating lanterns and the Festival has such a great variety of fun activities for everyone to enjoy! Love the Bagpipes player! Your lake is so beautiful, whether you’re boating, walking or just gazing on it, it’s there to enjoy!
Happy Summer Nancy & Sweet man!
Jenna
Happy Summer to you as well!
Thank you, Jenna.
What a lovely community you live in. It is easy to see why you love it. Your photos are wonderful!
Thank you so much Ruth!
Nancy it is so great to “go home again” and we rarely get to do that these days. You are so fortunate to live in such a place. My little home town had a “pancake feed” when we were there which was so cool even though there is only a couple hundred people living there, there was something about sitting at long long tables covered with butcher paper eating pancakes and link sausages on paper plates with people one has grown up with. Many still live there, unlike me who left for the big city. LOL. From there we visited another small town festival called Antique car and homemade pie day. Funny how these memories seem to settle around comfort food. Have a great week and thanks for sharing your pics.
Oh your festivals sound fun!
Thank-you so much for visiting!
Happy Summer!
How wonderful to take part, and be a part, of this community and this cool event, Nancy. The lanterns look magical as they float away. Your kayak date looks fun! Looks like you’re making the most of your summer!
Yes I am!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Happy Summer!
Such fabulous photos! You definitely know how to do summer right. That lantern festival looks fun and like it had a phenomenal turnout.
It was a fabulous turnout. Thanks so much for enjoying!
Happy Summer!
Not sure what I’ve enjoyed more – reading about the Lantern Festival or the Smores 🤣 I certainly does look like you are making the most of the warmer weather. We (finally) have some cold weather which is always lovely while it lasts – have a great week, Miss Nancy.
Hello Miss Clare! So good to hear from you! Thanks for all the Summer Love. The Lantern festival was outstanding. And our little town made it happen.
I know you are coming close to fall. Enjoy!
I love the lantern floats for the Women and Survivor families! What a great idea. We have a rubber duck race in our river that’s sponsored by the United Way, but the lanterns seem much more special. We like kayaking too. We had a 2 person that we gave to my daughter and sil when we downsized in 2019. Your lake life looks very charming, Nancy. That peony is beautiful! What growing zone are you in?
Thank you Rita for your sweet comments. We have a duck race too. Isn’t that funny!
We are in Zone 7a. The peonies are so beautiful right now!
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the start of summer my friend.
I love seeing all your fun activities and adventures. The lanterns are so beautiful on the water. Your lake is truly a source of relaxation and community as well. Enjoy your lovely summer. Hope to see you this winter.
Thank you so much Marsha. It was a lovely evening at the lake.
